Dana Rowan is a nurturing educator to the Pre-K students. She is passionate about building an educational foundation for her students that inspires a life-long love of knowledge. Mrs. Rowan states, "Teaching has been an absolute dream come true for me. Every year, I am so excited to work with children, their parents and extended families, and educational colleagues in providing a constructive learning environment. The basic building blocks begin with mutual respect, learning classroom and social expectations; like, raising your hand, locating materials independently, exhibiting patience, taking turns, listening to others at group time, and lining up and walking quietly in hallways. Children who have attended P3 have been initiated into these practices. Therefore, remediation by me echoes these behaviors and allows for a full year of fun, exploring, creativity, adventure and engaged learning. I cannot wait to see what the year has in store for us!"
Dana, herself, fell in love with learning at an early age. After graduating college, she pursued a healthcare career through Kiamichi Vo-Tech and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. During her 14 years in healthcare, Dana gained a respect for the educational and administrative part of medical care. This respect provided her with a renewed sense of educational adventure, and she committed herself to inspiring and mentoring others. She graduated from Kaplan University and began her career in elementary education.
Mrs. Rowan expresses her admiration for academia with such enthusiasm, "I am so excited for my ninth year of teaching at Stonebridge Academy! It is my mission to instill a love for learning in my students. I will teach with passion so that my students develop a desire to become life-long learners. My classroom will allow your child to grow and learn through creativity and structured play. I want to awaken their seeker of knowledge thought processes!"
Mrs. Rowan values the responsibility of molding her students' minds, mannerisms and behavioral expectations, but more importantly, she reveres the parental sculpturing every child requires. Dana is very proud to be a wife, mother and especially a grandmother of five beautiful granddaughters and five handsome grandsons. She feels the most important teacher in a child life is their parents. She is honored to be your child’s educator. “Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. It is so important to keep communication open between us. I look forward to a great 2023-2024 school year”, states Mrs. Rowan.
