Ms. Samantha Laughlin is enthusiastic about promoting student balance through artistic design, physical activity and student wellness. She supports active student engagement in P.E. with organized games, dance, and creative play. Ms. Laughlin is just as dedicated in encouraging her students to artistically express themselves through various art mediums. The opportunities presented in her art classroom, like cutting, coloring, sorting, critical thinking, and imaginative processing, all contribute to increased control of body mechanics, postural sitting, hand-eye coordination, and balance needed to participate in the physical activities of P.E. Ms. Laughlin feels the main goals in the elementary years are to assist in the development of cognitive & motor skills, knowledge of proper body processes, and appropriate exercise & eating habits.
Samantha encourages her students to de-stress through physical exercise, creative play, or even taking a nap. She feels children and parents would benefit from exercising together. Incorporating family time with walks around the block, playing in the park, bicycling, dancing, or any heart-pumping activity will provide children with the importance of making healthy choices for the rest of their lives.
Ms. Laughlin applauds parental involvement and welcomes any questions or concerns you may have.
