Dear Families, We have not wasted anytime in getting started with school this year. The halls are abuzz with learning and activity. A big part of our school is our after school clubs. This is the time for your child to pick activities in which they would like to participate. Clubs will start on September 6th after Labor Day. This year we are adding several new clubs including an Introduction to Intramurals club. I am including a copy of our Parent/Student Handbook. There is a page for you to sign and send back to us to make sure everyone has had the opportunity to get a copy. Feel free to come visit with me if you have any questions. We have a lot of new families this year. I wanted to let you know about our before and after school program. If you drop your child off before 7:40 am there will be a before school charge. After school is from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. These charges will be reflected on your monthly tuition bill. Lastly, Stonebridge Academy is a non-profit and we operate on tuition revenue and donations. Tuition only covers about one-third of our expenses so the rest is raised through grants, fundraising, and donations. AMAZON Do you shop at Amazon? If so go to smile.amazon.com and select Stonebridge Academy as your charitable organization. After that when you shop at Amazon .5% of your purchase will be sent to Stonebridge. http://smile.amazon.com/ch/27-0564321 BUY A CHRISTMAS WREATH OR CENTERPEICE We have partnered with Lynch Creek Farm to offer wonderful Christmas wreaths, table top decorations, garland, and other great holiday greenery. Twenty percent of your purchase goes to support Stonebridge Academy. If you buy a holiday wreath (or want to send gifts to others) each year consider buying it online from Lynch Creek, and pass the link along to your friends and family as well. We will send out the URL when the campaign kicks off later this fall. GIVE TO AND ATTEND OUR ANNUAL STONEBRIDGE AUCTION Planning is underway for the second annual Stonebridge Academy Auction to be in the spring. We raised over $5,000 last year that was matched with foundation grants therefore the event helped bring in over $10,000! We are asking that each family participate by donating an item plus one item/donation for the class theme basket. These items can be gift certificates, and goods, or services donated by area businesses. We encourage you to ask for donations while dining at your favorite restaurants or shopping at local stores. Please start collecting auction items now. For small items like gift certificates, services, etc. you may bring those items at anytime to the school. For larger items we ask that you keep those at home until we get closer to the auction date, but please email me with a description of the item and a picture if possible as soon as you have possession of the item. PARTICIPATE IN OUR ANNUAL RAFFLE In late winter/early spring we will have our annual raffle. Items raffled in the past include a 60” Flat Screen Television, an iPad, an iWatch, living room furniture, and a trip to Great Wolf Lodge. Check with the office in early in 2017 to see what we are raffling this year. MAKE A CHARITIBLE DONATION Stonebridge Academy is a non-profit organization and your contributions are tax deductible. Also, Oklahoma has passed legislation that will give you 50% of your donation back as a direct credit on your Oklahoma taxes. If you would like to participate in this fund you can donate at: http://osfkids.org/donate/. Make sure to choose Stonebridge Academy as the recipient of your donation. Thank you, Wren Hawthorne Head of School Stonebridge Academy Be kind, work hard, get smart! P.S.
