Guidelines
Stonebridge Academy requires all students to wear uniforms every school day. Families are required to purchase embroidered Stonebridge polo/poplin shirts. These may be purchased from Lemon Tree Landing in Morris or from any other retailer that sells the same type of shirts. Khaki bottoms may be purchased from any retailer.
Required for boys:
Stonebridge Academy Polos (royal blue or light blue) or light blue Oxford shirts embroidered by Lemon Tree Landing in Morris.
Khaki shorts or long pants.
Required for girls:
Stonebridge Academy Polos (royal blue or light blue), poplin shirts (light blue), or Oxford shirts (light blue) embroidered by Lemon Tree Landing in Morris. Bottoms must be khaki color or plaid. The plaid must be the school approved plaid. Shorts, long pants, skirts, skorts, and jumpers are acceptable.
Accessories/Hair
Tights/leggings worn under skirts and jumpers and all socks must be in a solid neutral shade: black, navy, white or gray.
Currently there is no hair-color or hairstyle policy. Students may color and style their hair as acceptable to their parents.
Shoes:
Acceptable--tie, Velcro, or buckle loafers, athletic shoes, sandals with ankle straps, neutral colored-boots
Not acceptable: flip-flops, wheeled or spinning shoes, backless shoes, croc type shoes, or boots covered in brightly colored sequins, fur, glitter, or fringe.
Any shoe worn must have a low heel for the safety of the child. All students attend PE classes and recess daily. Please help your child keep this in mind when choosing shoes for the day.
Outer-wear
Students may bring a light jacket or sweater to wear in class. Acceptable colors are: Navy, royal blue, white, gray, khaki, or black. Approved sweatshirts are available to order at the beginning of the year with our T-shirt order, but may be purchased anywhere. Outer-wear worn in the classroom must not have large graphics or logos.
Coats for recess and PE have no dress code guidelines and may be any style or color chosen.
Fridays
Every Friday is considered a Stonebridge Spirit Day. Students may wear school appropriate jeans, jean shorts, or jean skirts/skorts. Tops may be Stonebridge T-shirts (can be ordered at beginning of the school year), or Stonebridge Polo/Poplin shirts.
The last Friday of every month is a Free Dress Day. Students may wear clothing of their choice. Please be aware that the shoe policy remains the same as regular days to protect the safety of students.
Field Trips
On most field trips, students may dress as if it is a Friday. Occasionally, field trips will require uniforms due to the venue we may visit (museums, state capitol, etc.). Refer to individual field trip permission slips for details.
Uniform Closet
Stonebridge maintains a closet of hand-me-down uniforms. Ask any teacher or office staff member for access. Any student may take items from the closet for use at Stonebridge. We also accept donations of uniform items your child has outgrown. At times we stop taking khaki items because we run out of room to store these. Bring any items you wish to donate to the office or to your child's teacher.
Out of Uniform
If a child is not in proper uniform, a note or e-mail is sent to the parent. If a child is consistently not in the proper uniform, parents will be called to come to school with a change of clothes or shoes for the child. Parents should limit the amount of jewelry that children wear to school. Jewelry is easily lost or misplaced. Excessive jewelry can be distracting to students.
